ARRTDUO is a collision of minds that has resulted in a collaboration that ignites the artists’ emotional response to describe the world in wood, glass, ceramic, metal and poetry.

Our intentions are to produce work that:

  • Has an intrinsic beauty that is poignant but also direct in the message it carries.
  • Speaks to the world in a powerful and dramatically different way.
  • Draws in the viewers and compels the them to respond.

ARRT GOES IN FOR MULTI-TASKING

We are so pleased with this Victoria Cross filled with  stunning fused glass work by those who enjoyed spending some quality time making the glass panels. It is said that necessity is the mother of invention and nothing concentrates minds quite like the onset and passage of war. These panels illustrate some aspects of the positive outcomes of wwI including, art, literature, the great out doors, camaraderie, scientific and medical advancement, suffrage … Throughout this year long project we have come to appreciate not just the sacrifices of countless families who’s loved ones suffered and died but also the advancement of so much that we should be thankful for.

Thankful also that we are free to multi task our way through the next 2 months: mask making in Cyfarthfa Park 22nd June, an exhibition in an open garden in Rhiwbina, Cardiff on 29th June, Mask making in Merthyr Tydfil town in August! Along side this excitement we are making 27 large glass masks to herald the ‘Global Village Festival’ in August and we can just squeeze in a bronze foundry installation.

ARRTDUO marches forward! ( hopefully in a well prepared and organised fashion!)
