During the Easter weekend of 2018 we were part of Cyfarthfa Meuseum and Art Gallery’s “Make your Mark on Merthyr” amongst other visual artists and musicians we delivered drop-in workshops.

The participants of all ages got to use clay to create their own small object/sculpture, using skills such as rolling, pressing, indenting, joining and marking. Those who were really keen to increase their creative skill base braved the chilly Spring weather to throw a pot using a potter’s wheel. Most were so proud of their pot they were pleased to take it home with them!

Making fused glass wall pieces while having a chat or concentrating was enjoyed by quite a crowd of budding artists young and old. They used templates or drew their own shapes, positioned the drawing under glass tiles then using specially formulated glue added the glass droplets thus completing the picture. New skills acquired they used the template they had designed and coloured red the make a badge to take away.
